Although we haven’t been at school during August, we still managed to enjoy one last whole school trip at the beginning of the summer holidays to the Sheffield Arena to watch the BBC show: Gladiators. 

As previously mentioned, Everton Primary School were personally invited by Steel (a Gladiator on the show) to attend a live recording of the show due to how well behaved, interested and engaged our children were during his visit to our school. During the visit he spoke to our children about mental and physical health and fitness, confidence and anxiety, as well as ‘glimmers’ (positive thoughts and affirmations).

During the day at Sheffield Arena, all children were impeccably behaved, supportive of all the events, Gladiators and competitors, and learnt a lot about how a huge TV show like Gladiators is organised and produced. Whilst there we also won the ‘Best Poster’ competition, and we were name-checked by Steel during his post-event interview. We are looking forward to watching our episode when it airs in January 2027!

As we look towards the new academic year, we currently have spaces in Nursery, Reception and Year 1 that need to be filled from September 2026 and the academic year 2026/27.
