As we come into our final weeks of term the children of Everton Primary School take part in their ‘Transition Weeks’. This has included moving up to their next classroom and teacher or welcoming the year group below into their current classroom in preparation for the next academic year.

This month has also seen our oldest children in Year 6 go on transition days to their selected secondary schools. We were very pleased to hear about all their successes and how well they settled in, but we were also pleased to have them back for the final few weeks before they leave us and move on for real at the end of term.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Sun Inn for hosting their Pub Quiz Night this month in association with our school’s PTA. They, along with the support of the local community, helped raise money that will go towards our new library in our school.

In addition to this, our children took part in the ‘Race for Life’ event and to date, through the generosity of our parents, carers and community, we have raised exactly £1000 for this worthwhile cause. The link is still active, so if you are in a position to make a donation towards our Race for Life fundraiser then please follow this link: https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/everton-primary-school-1

Everton Primary School’s Sports Day went very well in the beautiful sunshine on the Metcalfe Field, with the children being incredibly supportive of one another no matter the results. It was fabulous to see so many parents and carers join us too, with some even taking part in the parent races.

The next few weeks see our School Summer Fair on Wednesday 20th July at 3.15pm, a Year 6 trip to Perlthorpe and a Reception and Key Stage 1 trip to Austerfield. The Year 6 children will have their Leavers Service at Everton’s Holy Trinity Church on Tuesday 26th July at 1.30pm. We will miss them but they know that they will always be welcome back at Everton Primary School as members of the EverTeam.

We are not only saying ‘goodbye’ to our Year 6 children this academic year, but also to Mrs Bowers, Mrs Pickering and Miss Graseley from our staff team. They will all be missed but we thank them for all that they have done for Everton Primary School and wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.

    Best Wishes,

    Andrew Green

    Headteacher
