Everton Primary School

Everyone. Everyday. Everlasting.

July 2025

We are coming towards the end of this academic year and, as usual, July’s learning has centred around ‘Transition’ to our new year groups and classes as well as our ‘EverTeam’ ethos. All children have spent time in their new classes alongside their new cohort at the same time as getting to know each other and their new teachers; whilst our Year 6 children have spent time at their new secondary schools. We also invited parents and carers into school for our ‘Terrific Transition’, which gave them a chance to view their children’s fabulous work that they’ve produce over the academic year.

A new magical event held this July was our first ever EYFS Graduation Ceremony. Here we invited parents and carers of our Reception children to celebrate their ‘Graduation’ after completing the Early Years Foundation Stage, in addition to celebrating the start of their journey into main school and more formal education. We will be holding our first ever ‘Leavers Graduation Ceremony’ for our Year 6 children leaving for their allocated secondary schools on Friday 25th July 2025 – our last day of term.

During this month our children have experienced a wide range of cultural capital opportunities. All Key Stage 2 children took part in Elizabethan Sports Day which was a fabulous chance for the children to represent our school in an inter-school competition in the sunshine. The children in Year 5 & 6 also took part in the ‘Safety Zone’ event held at Worksop Fire Station, where they experienced sessions with the British Transport Police, Hope Charity, Nottinghamshire Police, Nottinghamshire Fire Service and Northern Power. It was such a fun and informative event to attend. Our Year 6 children will soon be going on their final residential together in Perlethorpe, and enjoying a cinema trip to watch ‘Elios’, having already enjoyed their water fight!

Unfortunately, it has come to the end of another academic year and we must say ‘Goodbye’ to our wonderful Year 6 cohort. They will all be missed, but we are very proud of them – of  the successes they have had and the progressions that they have made at Everton Primary School – not only academically, but socially and emotionally too. We know that they will continue to succeed and progress in their next chapter of learning at their chosen secondary schools. They will leave as members of our ‘ForEverTeam’.

I would like to finish by saying how thankful to all stakeholders of Everton Primary School who have ensured that we have had such a successful academic: children, parents, carers, governors, staff and the local community. Without you, there can be no us. I wish you all a lovely summer.

Best wishes,

Andrew Green
