Nursery sessions and activities
Our Foundation Stage Unit
We welcome children from the age of 3 into our Foundation Stage Unit. We are a mixed aged class of nursery and reception children.
Our Foundation Stage Unit includes two indoor teaching and learning areas and the outdoor area in-between. The teaching and learning space is split into the six areas of learning and development for the Foundation Stage Curriculum.
These areas are:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development
- Communication and Language
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding of the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
During the day children will be accessing these different areas. They will have group activities, small group tasks and will also be choosing their own activities that will involve self initiated learning.
We regularly use 'Class Dojo', a communication app to give learning updates and share photographs with our parents.
Children can attend from the age of 3 from 8am until 5pm - please see the information below.
Nursery Sessions
Nursery sessions are currently available. Please call us on 01777 817350 to discuss your requirements and to arrange to view our setting.
For children of nursery age, we can sometimes provide the following chargeable activities which are in addition to the funded hours for which your child is entitled (15 or 30 hours of funding from the government):

‘Lunch club option B’ – an additional hour after the morning session, so children are collected at 12:45 | £4.70 plus the cost of a school meal if this is chosen. |
Breakfast Club | £3.50 |
After School Club | £3.50 until 4pm and then £2.50 for each half-hour (or part half-hour) until 5pm. |
Please also note that your charges (additional sessions and lunch club) will be charged IN ADVANCE for the pattern of sessions that you have agreed with Miss Oakley for the forthcoming term. Payment can be made for all clubs and nursery via Parentmail.
Top-Up Sessions
You might be aware that the government funds 15 hours of nursery education for every child (this equates to 5 morning or afternoon sessions each week). We can sometimes offer additional sessions at cost to the parent. Please contact us if you would like further information.
Before and After School Clubs
Nursery and reception children are very welcome at breakfast club (from 7:45am) or after school (fun) club. Pick-up times for fun club can be booked until 4pm, 4:30pm or 5pm. Booking should be made before noon on the required day.
Lunchtime
Children are welcome to stay for lunch and can choose either a hot school lunch (cooked on-site) or to bring a packed lunch. School lunches are great value, nutritionally balanced and use fresh produce, sourced locally where possible. A copy of the menu can be found via the link below:
