Everyone. Everyday. Everlasting.
The second half of the summer term has started with a wide range of cultural capital experiences for the children of Everton Primary School. All children took part in Sports Day, and we must take this opportunity to thank Alan for preparing the Metcalf Field so beautifully for us. The children in Year 5 & 6 took part in ‘The Safety Zone’ event held at Ranby House, where they experienced sessions with the British Transport Police, Hope Charity, Via Road Safety, Nottinghamshire Police, Nottinghamshire Fire Service, Northern Power, Royal National Lifeboat Institution and East Midlands Ambulance Service. It was such a fun and informative event to attend.
On Monday 10th June all children from Key Stage 2 were taken to the Rothesay Nottingham Tennis Open 2024, where the children were able to experience watching and learning from professional tennis players in an internal tournament. The children then took part in tennis workshops where they were able to take part in tennis with professional coaches. As Headteacher of Everton Primary School I know that the children are fabulous, but this was cemented after receiving the following email:
“Dear Mr Green,
My wife and I, both retired primary school headteachers from Derbyshire, were at the Tennis Centre in Nottingham yesterday. We were sat in the same stand as a group of pupils from your school and we just wanted to say how beautifully behaved they were.
In an age when it is all too easy to send criticism and spread negativity, it is a pleasure to be able to offer praise. Please pass on our appreciation to the pupils and staff concerned and keep up the good work! Ps. We hope the children enjoyed their trip.”
So, this is me sharing it with pupils, staff, parents and the community – a very proud Headteacher!
Also on Monday 10th June, our Early Years and Key Stage 1 children had a brilliant ‘Beach Day’, which included fish and chips, beach games and beach crafts amongst other things. In addition to these events, our Year 3 & 4 children also went to Creswell Craggs where they took part in survival skills like den building and fire starting as well as caving in the pitch black!
I am a strong believer in giving the children of Everton Primary School the best ‘well-rounded’ education possible, and as you can see from the above, this very much includes taking part in activities and events both in and out of school. We are accepting child places for September in both Nursery and Reception, so if you, or anyone you know, would like to visit our lovely school then please feel free to contact me via Mrs Keely Bailey in the school office on 01777 817350 or email: office@everton.notts.sch.uk
Best wishes,
Andrew Green
