Everton Primary School

Everyone. Everyday. Everlasting.

December 2024

During November it is vitally important to educate our children about Remembrance Day and why it is still celebrated today. As part of our Remembrance Day celebrations, the children created some beautiful artwork which adorned the front off school, alongside some crocheted poppies kindly donated by Mrs Stephanie Green. Thank you to members of the public who have commented on how lovely our Remembrance display outside school is.

Children in both our EYFS and Class 1 have created poppy art and prints, alongside making poppy biscuits with a delicious bright red icing!  Our Reception and Nursery have also enjoyed their bonfire safety topic – creating a ‘fake’ bonfire and enjoying tasty chocolate and sprinkles covered ‘sparklers’. Miss Oakley has some wonderful videos of the children performing drama as different types of fireworks.

Class 2 have focused their attention on ‘Snow White in New York’, a twist on the original ‘Snow White’ story, creating some beautiful writing. Some Year 3 and 4 children also enjoyed an afternoon of Basketball and Trampolining at the Elizabethan Academy, which was a great experience and enjoyed by all.

Our oldest children in Year 5 and 6 have been preparing for their residential trip to Hagg Farm in the Peak District. The children are looking forward to caving, canoeing and filed studies – though they will need to wrap up warm with the snow I can currently see outside my window!

As we come towards the festive season, if you would like to attend our Nativity and Jungle book productions at the Village Hall, then you are cordially invited to attend on Tuesday 17th December 2024. Doors open at 9.30am for a 9.45am start. Please can you call or email Mrs Bailey in the school office to confirm your attendance (contact details below).

For your information we currently have some child places available at Everton Primary School. If you, or anyone you know, would like a school place or to visit our lovely school, then please feel free to contact me via Mrs Keely Bailey in the school office on 01777 817350 or email: office@everton.notts.sch.uk
