We have managed to fit a lot into this month at Everton Primary School after returning from the half term break. We have celebrated, thought about and discussed key dates in the British Calendar: a collection for the Bassetlaw Food Bank (with harvest and Thanksgiving in mind); Bonfire Night (with Fire Safety talks and a Neon Disco); Remembrance Day (with thanks to Ann Hickman for her visit and poppy assembly); and Children in Need Day.

In other events, our Musical Theatre group – led by Miss Spencer – went on a visit to the Nottingham Theatre Royal, where they watched The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. All children, staff and helpers had a wonderful time, but most pleasing were positive comments from the public and members of staff regarding our pupils:

• “I have been a teacher for 40 years and can I just say that your school were the most well behaved school I’ve ever seen at a theatre.”
• “I can’t believe how well they all sat. They’ve just been an absolute credit to the school.”

On Monday 1st December, the school’s Musical Theatre Club will be singing a selection of songs at the King William pub in Scaftworth from 4pm to 4:30pm. Please feel free to come along, watch and support us.

As is tradition, we are inviting members of the village to watch a performance of both our nativity and school productions on Tuesday 16^th December at 9.45am. If you would like to attend these performances, then please could you let Mrs bailey know in the school office on 01777817350 or office@everton.notts.sch.uk .

This month Miss Oakley has started an EverTots group for children aged 1-3 years and their parents/carers. The remaining sessions are Thursday 27^th November and Thursday 4^th December from 9am-10.30am at school. If you are able to join us then please do – there will be singing, stories, crafts and other themed activities.

A reminder that School applications are now open. If your child turns five between 1^st September 2026 and 31^stAugust2027, it’s now time to apply for an Everton Primary School place for September 2026. Applications are open from Monday 3^rd November 2025 to Thursday 15 January 2026. Applying online is quick and easy on the following webpage:
