Everyone. Everyday. Everlasting.
Hello and Happy New (academic) Year! It has been wonderful to welcome our children, new and old, back to Everton Primary School for the 2024-25 academic year. Some children have started our school for the first time, some have joined new classes and have new teachers, whilst all children are mixed with a different year group from last year. That is a fantastic element to life in a small school, our children get to mix with a wide range of pupils from year to year and broaden their social as well as educational horizons.
The start of the year has seen our Early Years and Class 1 children head to White Post Farm in the sunshine for a fabulous day holding and learning about animals, their habitats and life in the wild. They also got to go on a very exciting tractor ride. Class 2 have started the year by looking at ‘States of Matter’ and becoming scientists; studying and performing poetry revolving around ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’ written by Roald Dahl; whilst also exploring the song ‘Mamma Mia’ by ABBA in their quest to become musicians. Class 3 have been focusing their learning on World War Two, particularly looking at ‘Goodnight Mister Tom’ and evacuation and evacuees. The children have then studied the importance of strong passwords and inspirational people in Computing and RE.
Many of our children took part in the Everton Garden Holders Association Village Show, and we are very proud of all the winners and all those who took part. The Garden Holders have been very supportive of our school through help with fundraising and leading a Gardening Club at school, so many thanks to them. Talking of fundraising, as a school we are still ‘Parentkind’ members, so if anyone is shopping in Asda then you can get money for school by using the rewards app and selecting Everton Primary School. Thanks in advance.
Finally, this year we are offering private music sessions for babies, toddlers and children under the age of 5 years on a Wednesday morning in school from 10-11am courtesy of ‘Jack in the Box Musical Memories’. Please contact Elaine on 07717758458 or email: bielbyelaine@gmail.com for more details.
For your information we currently have child places available in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 5. If you, or anyone you know, would like to visit our lovely school then please feel free to contact me via Mrs Keely Bailey in the school office on 01777 817350 or email: office@everton.notts.sch.uk
Best wishes,
