The last month at Everton Primary School has seen more learning through experience, something we always want the children to do in order to make their learning come to life.

On Wednesday 22nd February, Girlguiding celebrated World Thinking Day. This is an important celebration within Girlguiding in which members explore international friendship and Girlguiding across the world. To mark the occasion we encouraged all members of Girlguiding (Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Leaders etc.) to wear their Girlguiding uniform to school. At Everton Primary School, we were very fortunate to have Miss Scott, Leader of the 1st Ranskill Brownies, to organise and take the lead on World Thinking Day.

In the first Schools’ Swimming Gala since the covid-19 pandemic, Everton Primary School finished in second place with some amazing performances from every child that took part! The children were extremely pleased with both the medals that they earned and trophy that now sits proudly in our school foyer.

As a school, on 2nd March, we celebrated World Book Day. World Book Day is about promoting reading for pleasure and offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own. Reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success - more than their family circumstances, their parents’ educational background or their income. Our children (and staff) dressed as different characters to really get into the spirit of things. In addition to this we welcomed the ‘West End in Schools - Bringing Books to Life’ production company. They showed us how to use our imagination in dance to depict the books that we read. The children loved being performers, using actions to perform the retelling of the story of ‘The Enormous Crocodile’.

Everton Primary School is a lovely village school with a very capable, kind and caring staff. If you, or anyone you know, have preschool or primary aged children and would like to make visit to look around our school with a view to attending, we currently have a space in each of our Nursery, Reception, Year 4 and Year 5 age groups.

    Best Wishes,
