Everyone. Everyday. Everlasting.
Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
We are so proud of our FSU who have won first place for both their entries of tomatoes and grapes in the Everton Gardenholders Annual Show 2021 which took place yesterday. Mrs Ann Hickman of the Everton Gardenholders came into school to present the FSU with their certificates this morning. Congratulations also goes to our other pupils and their parents/carers who were given individual honours this weekend.
Yesterday was National Teaching Assistant Day. At Everton Primary School we are incredibly fortunate to have such kind, caring and nurturing TAs. Therefore Laura from Twinkle came into school to set up a surprise 'Tea with a TA' event to show them how much we all appreciate their hard work and dedication. You can watch how the surprise unfolded in the video link below:

I am delighted to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you as the new Headteacher of Everton Primary School. The children, parents, staff and community have been incredibly kind and welcoming, which has really helped me settle into my new role and has been very much appreciated.
I feel very honoured to have been given this opportunity to take over the leadership of a school with such a fantastic reputation as that of Everton Primary School, as well as become an integral part of Everton’s community and its surrounding areas.
The children have impressed me with their commitment to learning and excellent behaviour and I have been trying my very best to learn everyone’s name. Over the summer I managed to acquire some funding from local child mental health charity ‘Help Me I’m Fine’ which has enabled us to create a brand new Thrive Room for the children to use. This has helped children with worries when they returned to school and will give many others the opportunity to regulate their emotions when needed throughout the year.
I am very excited about the future for Everton Primary School and our links with the local community. Please feel free to contact me if you think that we could collaborate in any way for the benefit of the children and community.
Best Wishes,
Andrew Green

Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for working with us and being patient as we responded to the announcement about school closures yesterday. We have now allocated places to children of parents who are critical workers and need a place; all parents who have responded to us have had an email informing them what will happen.
We're trying to keep the home and school learning offer as close as possible and we need you to engage with your child's teacher via ClassDojo and Zoom, following the timetables set by them when live lessons are happening. If your child misses sessions, we will not be able to repeat these sessions.
We are working to ensure a consistent learning experience so that when school re-opens to all children we can continue our learning together. We do not want any of our children to fall behind and very much value working with you to ensure that our children get the best experience.
If you need anything at all you can contact us in the usual ways.
Stay safe, and very best wishes,
Paul Higginbottom

Dear Parents,
As we come towards the end of this term, I wanted to offer my thanks to our entire school community for the amazing way that everyone has pulled together throughout 2020. The parental support and engagement we have received has been so strong, and I believe that by working together so positively, we have thrived during a time that has been so challenging for all.
Our children have responded so brilliantly that they have made it possible for learning to continue to be the focus and priority for everyone in school. With determination, resilience and a good degree of patience, they have become quickly accustomed to new ways of learning and working. I’m really proud of every one of them and I thank them for being the brilliant individuals that they are.
Thank you for continuing to work with us to support children’s learning. You have worked with us and held the safety of our school community in strong focus, and though there will be more to do when we return in January, I’m so pleased to have been able to have school as normal a place as possible this term.
We all wish you a very happy Christmas and send our best wishes for the New Year. We’ll see you on Monday 4th January, when breakfast club and after school club will be open as normal.
With best wishes,
Paul Higginbottom

Hello!
We’re all so grateful for your continued support during this term. It has been wonderful to see
children learning in school again – they’ve coped really well. In partnership, we will continue to
ensure that our children have the best possible chances in these strange times. There are just one
or two things to update you about, so please take a moment to find out about our latest news:
Parent and Teacher Meetings
Meetings for parents and teachers will go ahead with a slight difference this term. Either just
before or after half term, telephone or Zoom calls will be arranged so that teachers and parents can
meet to update each other regarding children’s progress so far this school year. You’ll be notified
when appointments for your child’s class become bookable via ParentMail as usual and, as before,
appointments will be available throughout the day (9am-5:30pm) so that the teacher can be
available at a time which works for you. If you also want to talk to me about any part of your child’s
time in school, please email or telephone Mrs Bailey in the school office to arrange an
appointment.
Miss Bawden
We have informed the children and parents in class 2 that Miss Bawden and her partner are
expecting a baby. We will keep you updated with information about who will cover Miss Bawden’s
maternity leave but for now, we send Miss Bawden and her partner our very best wishes.
Morning and the end of school day routines
Thank you for adhering to requirements at the start and the end of the day. There’s one or two
extra things you could do to make things work even more smoothly:
• Please do not stop your car along the road outside school to let a child in or out of the car
• Please give way to children on the pavement – there seems to be bottlenecks of people
waiting to wave, causing other children to need to walk on the road to maintain distancing
• Please do not park on or opposite the yellow lines outside school. In an ideal world these
lines would be painted on both sides of the road because it is just as dangerous to park
opposite them as on them.
Thank you for helping to keep everyone safe.
School Logo
As you’ll see on this letter, we have a wonderful new school logo. This was designed by McGuigan
designs of Everton – it has been great to work with a local company to establish new and modern
branding for our school. In time, the logo will appear on new uniform items but for now please do
not worry that the old logo is on children’s clothing and book bags – we know it will be around for a
while.
Absences
Please continue to talk to us if you’re unsure whether your child should be in school because of
possible symptoms. We should be informed of all absences by a call to the school telephone
number, and not via a message on ClassDojo. Due to the part-time working of almost all staff,
Class Dojo isn’t a reliable method of ensuring that we know whether we’ve been informed of a
child’s absence. Thank you for your understanding.
Children missing school because of isolation
We are continuing to develop and refine our procedures for any future periods of distance learning
and will soon be launching a new digital platform which will support this. In the meantime,
teachers will, where possible, set work via portfolio on ClassDojo for children who are well but need
to isolate. We need you to work with us in those instances to support your child to keep up with
class work. If a class needs to be sent home, their teacher(s) will set work daily via portfolio and
teaching might include live learning, as previously. We’ll communicate exact plans if and when it
becomes necessary to implement them. If you have difficulties accessing online learning for any
reason, please contact me via the school office and we will do our best to support you.
Cooler weather
We’ve already noticed on the recent cooler days that keeping classrooms well-ventilated is, rather
obviously, meaning that the classrooms are not as warm as we’d like! Therefore, we’re sure that
you will want to send extra layers when the days are cold. The heating is on, we’re not being mean,
but we must ensure that rooms are really well ventilated!
I think that’s all for now. Please do get in touch if we can do anything to make your child’s time in
school even better.
Macmillan Bake Sale
Many people in Everton (and beyond) know someone who has had cancer, or has had amazing support from Macmillan, a wonderful charity offering support to cancer patients and their families.
We have always had coffee mornings in past years in the village hall and in school to support this valuable charity.
Clearly this year has to be very different, so we are planning a much more low key "Macmillan Bake Sale" to be held on Pine Close on Saturday 26th September from 10.00 -12.00.
Donations of wrapped cakes etc are very welcome and we shall ensure social distancing will be observed and Government requirements will be met. It would be helpful to label if cakes have been previously frozen.
No coffees or slices of cake this year, but everyone is welcome to drop by and buy cakes - we know what good bakers lots of you are, and please donate to this fantastic charity using the donation box which will be provided.
Looking forward to lots of support.... And cake! 🎂🍰🍪
We have received the following information from M & S Uniform:
I am sure you have heard on numerous occasions that these are unprecedented times and this year we have faced a constantly changing global trading backdrop ranging from factory closures and reduced manufacturing capacity to restricted shipping arrangements and import/export backlogs. To this end today I have to inform you that we are anticipating delays on our sweat product range, polo and t-shirts caused by all of the above, but primarily by factory closures during lockdowns in Sri Lanka and India. Whilst we are holding some stocks in the UK, we may face supply issues or delays to replenish these items until our new stock arrives. We are currently expecting that polo’s and t-shirts will be available during July and sweat products during August.
We have always valued your business and are genuinely appreciative of your loyalty to us in these testing times, so we are really pleased to be able to inform you that the promotion that is due to start on 2nd July has now been increased from 20% to 25% off until 30th September.
